Meet Lourdes Echazabal

For Lourdes Echazabal, education is about much more than academics. It's about helping students discover what excites them, build confidence in themselves, and realize they're capable of achieving more than they ever imagined. After teaching and supporting students from kindergarten through eighth grade, Lourdes joined Primer because she wanted to be part of a school where students love learning, explore their interests, and grow beyond the expectations of a traditional classroom. Primer's approach gives students the opportunity to develop not only academically, but also as curious, confident, and capable individuals.

Throughout her career, Lourdes has found the greatest joy in building meaningful relationships with students and celebrating their growth. Watching students accomplish goals they once thought were out of reach is what inspires her every day. She believes every child deserves encouragement, support, and opportunities to challenge themselves. By helping students recognize their strengths and build confidence, Lourdes hopes they leave school knowing there are no limits to what they can accomplish through hard work and perseverance. For Lourdes, education is about preparing students for life, not just the next test. She hopes every student develops respect for themselves and others, understands the importance of community, and recognizes that even small actions can make a positive difference. Most importantly, she wants students to believe in their own potential and leave Primer with the confidence to pursue ambitious goals.

Outside of school, Lourdes loves spending time with her family and diving into a good book. She's an avid reader and enjoys supporting independent authors as both a beta and alpha reader, helping review books before they're published. Disney and Universal are two of her favorite travel destinations, and she loves returning to the parks whenever she can. She also enjoys hiking with her two boys and their Great Dane. Lourdes is also a Disney pin collector and loves trading pins during her visits to the parks. Lourdes brings a passion for lifelong learning, meaningful relationships, and student growth to Primer every day. She is committed to creating a school community where every child feels supported, challenged, and inspired to become the very best version of themselves.
