Meet Amber Boykin

Every student deserves a learning experience that meets them where they are while encouraging them to grow beyond what they thought was possible. That's the vision Amber Boykin, Campus Leader and 3–5 Primer Leader at Primer Tampa, brings to her classroom every day. With several years of experience in elementary education, Amber is passionate about helping students become confident, creative learners who take ownership of their education. She believes learning should be engaging, hands-on, and filled with opportunities for students to explore their ideas in meaningful ways.

Amber joined Primer because its approach to education reflects what she has always believed great teaching should look like. "What brought me to Primer was its personalized approach to learning. I love that we truly meet students where they are, encourage creativity, and use hands-on, project-based learning to make education meaningful for every child." Before becoming Campus Leader, Amber taught fourth and fifth grade reading. Today, she supports students across grades 3–5, helping them strengthen their skills across all subject areas through personalized instruction and project-based learning. For Amber, every student learns differently, and creating opportunities for each child to succeed is one of the most rewarding parts of her role.

One of Amber's favorite parts of teaching is witnessing the moment when a student finally understands a concept that once seemed out of reach. Those "lightbulb moments" never get old. She loves watching students gain confidence, take ownership of their learning, and transform a simple assignment into something imaginative that reflects their creativity and personality. Helping students realize they're capable of more than they expected is what makes every day meaningful. Amber hopes every student leaves her classroom knowing they are deeply valued and capable of achieving incredible things. She wants students to understand that they are loved, supported, and encouraged every step of the way. By creating a classroom where students feel safe to ask questions, think creatively, and embrace challenges, she helps them build confidence that extends far beyond academics. Her goal is to inspire students not only to become strong learners but also thoughtful, creative problem-solvers who believe in their own potential.

Outside of school, Amber has a unique background in scholarship pageants. She competed in the Miss America Organization as a local titleholder working toward Miss Florida and graduated from college debt-free thanks to the scholarships she earned through pageantry. She also served as the Florida Watermelon Queen and has a hidden talent that always surprises people—she can twirl a baton. Whether she's leading the Tampa campus, celebrating a student's breakthrough, or encouraging learners to think creatively, Amber is passionate about helping every child discover that with confidence, curiosity, and perseverance, they can accomplish amazing things.
