What makes Primer different?

At Primer, we believe every student learns differently. That's why we've designed a school experience that combines personalized learning, caring educators, and meaningful opportunities to apply what students learn every day.
Rather than expecting every student to move through the same lessons at the same pace, students progress by demonstrating mastery. This allows educators to meet students where they are, providing additional support when needed while giving students the opportunity to move ahead as they build confidence and understanding.
Students spend each day building strong foundations in literacy and math through personalized instruction, small-group learning, and independent practice. They also participate in Pursuits, Primer's project-based learning program, where they apply their learning through hands-on experiences that connect classroom concepts to real-world questions and challenges.
Just as important as academics, we want students to develop the skills they'll use throughout their lives. Every day, students practice communicating their ideas, collaborating with classmates, thinking critically, solving problems, and taking increasing ownership of their learning. These experiences help prepare students for success in high school, college, careers, and the opportunities they'll encounter beyond the classroom.
Above all, we want Primer to be a place where students feel known, challenged, and supported. When students are encouraged to grow at their own pace, build strong relationships with their educators, and engage deeply with their learning, they develop the confidence and curiosity that can last a lifetime.
