Learning at the right level

Every student learns differently. Some students grasp new concepts quickly, while others benefit from additional time and practice. At Primer, we meet students where they are and help them continue growing from there.

Students begin with diagnostic assessments that help educators understand their current strengths and areas for growth. Using that information, educators tailor instruction in literacy and math so students can build knowledge and skills one step at a time.

Students progress by demonstrating mastery rather than moving on simply because the class is ready for the next lesson. This approach helps students build a strong foundation before tackling more advanced concepts and gives educators the flexibility to provide additional support or challenge when it's needed.

Technology is one of the tools we use to support learning, but it never replaces great teaching. Throughout the day, students move between independent practice, small-group instruction, teacher-led lessons, collaborative discussions, and hands-on projects. Educators use student progress and observations to adjust instruction, provide feedback, and ensure every student continues moving forward.

Because students learn at different paces, it is natural for classmates to be working on different skills at the same time. Our goal is not for every student to be in the same place on the same day. Our goal is for every student to continue making meaningful progress, build confidence in their abilities, and develop a strong understanding of what they are learning.
