A Note from the Editor’s Desk: The Primer Papers is an open invitation to your kids—to all kids around the world to wonder: What do I want to create? What story do I want to tell? What universe do I want to invent?
At Primer we're building a no speed-limit world where kids can make their imaginations come to life. There’s a place for every kid regardless of what they want to experiment with, from art, to writing, to computer programming, to cooking…
We learned that magic happens when we bestow kids with a platform to find their voice, where kids can feel pride in sharing their work and discover peers who get excited about the same things they do.
We're now determined to inspire all kids around the world with the magic that kids create on Primer.
So we’re creating a publicationby kids for kids at the Primer Newsroom.
Primer kids interested in publishing their work embarked on a journey a month ago when we launched the Primer Newsroom community.
The gears were soon in place for the “printing press” at the Primer Papers, the first kid-created, public-facing publication of Primer.
We asked the kids to help us find a name for the Primer Newsroom’s first publication and we landed on the ‘Primer Papers’.
Kids initiated their endeavors by pitching their ideas…
Maya’s pitch for the editorial on education that she published in Issue No. 1 of the Primer Papers.
And after weeks of brainstorming, revising, and editing through multiple rounds of feedback…
Sara (12) worked on a short story submission for the Primer Papers which began as a Storyteller’s Club Challenge called ‘Frozen in Time’ started by Finn (10).
Today, we’re ecstatic about unveiling the inaugural issueof the Primer Papers.
We hope that the work of Maya, Sara, Victory, Sierra, Eva, Sydney, Marinette, and Finn in Issue No. 1 of the Primer Papers will inspire your kid to pick up the pencil, marker, paintbrush—whatever magic-making tool of their choice—to convert their imaginations into reality too.
The Newsroom of the Primer Papers is an open invitation to your kids—to all kids around the world to wonder: What do I want to create? What story do I want to tell? What universe do I want to invent?
If you know a kid who has a creative itch, don’t hesitate to have them submit a pitch by reaching out at [email protected]. We’ll help them find a platform for their voice and discover other kids who resonate with their passions.
